Welcome to the new Lyme Connection blog

Did you BLAST today? BLAST stands for:

  • Bathe or shower soon after coming indoors
  • Look for ticks and remove with tweezers
  • Apply repellents for skin and/or clothing
  • Spray the perimeter of your yard for ticks
  • Treat your pets
  • We couldn't have done it without you! Funds in the 2016-17 budget have been allocated for the CT Department of Public Health (DPH) to begin state-wide tick-borne disease education. The program will be coordinated out of the Ridgefield Health Department. Effort to allocate funding for this health initiative was led by State Senator Danté Bartolomeo (D, 15th) and supported by State Representative Diana Urban (D, 43rd) and State Senator Michael McLachlan (R, 24th). We wish to thank all of the patients, health professionals, researchers, friends and family members who contacted our state legislators, sent letters and testified to support this effort.
