Facilitator Deni Weber will introduce the group to Mindfulness Meditation for Pain Relief using guided meditations by Jon Kabat-Zinn, founding director of the Stress Reduction Clinic and Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and professor of medicine emeritus.

The group will enjoy guided meditations drawn from Kabat-Zinn's pioneering Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction methodology including: ~ Mindfulness of breathing - how to "put out the welcome mat" for whatever we experience; ~ What to do about pain - How to relate to intense and unwanted sensations; ~ Mindfulness in everyday life - allowing the nitty gritty of life to be both the ultimate meditation teacher and practice.

"Through the systematic cultivation of mindfulness, we can reclaim the entire spectrum of our experience and the joys inherent in living," according to Kabat-Zinn. Through these recordings, he offers a vehicle for embracing the "full catastrophe" of the human condition and thriving in the face of it."
